Edinburgh Extension

Our clients wanted to demolish an existing lean-to side extension which had become tired and outdated. They thought about forming an open plan L-shaped extension to the side and rear but we instead proposed creating two separate extensions. The two extensions work to create the best use of the internal and external spaces, forming an opening plan kitchen, living, dining space and framing an external seating area.

Between the newly formed open plan spaces we used oak lining around the new openings to help create a sense of division. Although we love creating fluid open plan spaces we also believe the most successful spaces are those that are purposefully designed for a specific use.
